Cosmos is a public artwork that is sited in the Leinelä residential area in the city of Vantaa. While planning the work, I was inspired by the map of the nearby Ring Rail Line, which reminded me of a pearl necklace, a rope, or an astronomical constellation with nodal points at regular intervals. After examining several constellations, I chose the Sagittarius constellation because of its intriguing rhythm. The form of the sculpture is a fusion of two-dimensional and three-dimensional image perceptions as well as different ways of illustrating both macro-cosmos and micro-cosmos. Yet the reality, in which we live, is a mysterious link or a nodal point between these two infinities.
