THE FIGHTING CAPERCAILLIES
2019. Medicine capsules, rubber, polyurethane, acrylate, steel, ca. 55 cm x 60 cm x 50 cm, series of 5 works.
The Fighting Capercaillies is comprised of five bird-shape sculptures that combine biological and organic forms with technological elements and chains made of red medicine capsules. The work can be seen as a three-dimensional freeze-frame of our technological era, during which various technological processes have become a part of our selfhood and corporeal existence in an increasingly intimate way. Through us, they have also passed into the everyday life and identity of diverse non-human animals.
