BLIND HERD

BLIND HERD 1-6, 2019. Paraffin wax, polyurethane, acrylate, aluminum, steel, ca. 180 cm x 130 cm x 50 cm, series of 5 works.

The Blind Herd is a group of sculptures based on an image of a mystical parade that has suddenly appeared on urban surroundings; the blind herd of deceased animals haunting the cityscape or a gallery space. They wander over the space, groping and fumbling their way by the means of thin sticks. Using these sticks as feelers, does the herd perhaps look for its ancient grazing ley that has disappeared along with urbanization?
